A Homemade Christmas

January 11, 2011 – Courtney

I decided to make most of our Christmas gifts again this year, and though we ended up giving less because of the time it took to make these gifts, it felt better than giving everyone a stack of “things” they might not even put to use.

Homemade Granola & Handmade Sacks

For the adults, homemade granola and handmade sacks from leftover fabric I’ve had in my sewing supplies.  And for our nephews, I made twin teddy bears made from my grandma’s wool skirt.  Each bear came with their own name and a little blurb about their lives.  For my tiny niece, I conquered my first “real”, intense sewing project and made her this pixie doll.  So cute!  And I plan to keep the pattern for my own some day…even if it’s a boy…

  1. If it’s a boy, you can just add a felt army hat and a few knuckle scars : )
